Memorial Day & The Local Real Estate Market

Hello, it has been over a month since I have posted a new blog so I felt it was time to do so.  This Spring has definitely been different than past years with the weather and our local real estate market.  I noticed a pick-up in the market right after Easter for a couple of weeks, then it seemed to slow again as far as sales were concerned.  Many new listings have hit the market since then and finally this week I have noticed an increase in the number of showings again.  My hope is that we are finally over the hump with the extended winter weather we experienced and we will see more and more sales in the next month.  Part of the difference this year may be the last day of school being later than in past years, again due to the weather.

It is a great time to buy!  Interest rates are still low, grant money is available for those who qualify, unemployment levels have decreased, the stock market is holding steady and there are a variety of houses in various areas, price ranges, etc. to choose from!

It is hard to believe another month has come and go.  I hope you all enjoy this Memorial Day weekend and remember those who have passed.  I am looking forward to helping my clients this weekend as well as spending time with my family and friends, taking in the sunshine and hopping from cook-out to cook-out!
